Thanks to new technologies we have more tools then ever to help us diagnose cavities. This allows us to treat them before they lead to pain and bigger problems. We use a Laser called Diagnodent to help diagnose cavities on the surface of teeth. It gives us a numeric reading indicating the depth of lesions. We also use a software program call Logicon Caries Detector. This Program works with Kodak's top rated digital xray sensors to evaluate the depth of cavities between the teeth.
An unfortunate trend in dentistry today is with dentists sending lab work to China. This has been spreading in Washington the last few years with new companies using local sounding names but sending all the work to China. Crowns, bridges, dentures etc. all done in huge lab mills at very low cost and usually poor quality. The American Dental Association has already raised concerns about finding lead and other toxic materials in crowns from china.
